Nervous System Reset
Slow, structured breathing to down-shift a busy head. The class our members book when the week has been running them instead of the other way around.
Guided breathing classes inside a contrast-therapy studio: meditation that starts in the body, not on the cushion.
Most people don't fail at meditation — they fail at sitting still with nothing to hold on to. At ILO STUDIOS every session starts with guided breathwork: a facilitator gives your attention one simple job, the breath, and the body follows. It is the most direct door into a meditative state we know.
Classes run daily at Bailén 56, in Eixample, inside Barcelona's largest sauna and ice bath studio. Some sessions stay seated and slow; most pair the breathing with heat and cold, because temperature makes the practice tangible — you feel your nervous system change instead of wondering whether it did.

A gentle, meditative session built around long exhales and stillness. The closest thing to classic guided meditation on our schedule.
Activating breath patterns that wake the system up — clarity and energy without caffeine. Popular at 7:30 and at lunchtime.
Prefer to keep it seated and dry? Classes like Inner Peace and Sound Bath work without the ice — just tell your guide it's your first time and go at your own pace.
Slow breathing at around six breaths per minute increases heart-rate variability and stimulates the vagus nerve — the physiological brake of the stress response. Reviews of controlled trials link breathwork-based practice with reduced anxiety and improved mood, with effects comparable to established mindfulness programs.
Heat and cold amplify the effect: regular sauna bathing is associated with lower stress and better sleep, and brief cold-water immersion produces a large, lasting rise in noradrenaline — alertness and mood, trained through the body. Sources below.
First-timers who think they can't meditate, busy professionals who need a hard reset more than a philosophy, athletes using the breath to recover, and anyone who wants the benefits of meditation without pretending to enjoy sitting still. Sessions are guided, mixed and run in English, Spanish or Catalan depending on the class.

No. Our classes are secular and body-based: breathing mechanics, temperature and guided attention. If you have a spiritual practice, they sit comfortably alongside it; if you don't, nothing is asked of you.

Once a week changes your baseline; two to three sessions a week is where members report the biggest shift in sleep and stress. Memberships start at €80/month for four sessions.
Guided slow breathing is safe for most healthy adults. If you're pregnant or have cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy or a history of fainting, tell your guide — classes adapt, and the ice bath is always optional.
A swimsuit — always required, in every session — and yourself. We provide two towels, lockers, showers and water. Sessions are mixed and guided.
